Here are the second additions to the pictures of our new home. These are pictures of the kitchen and eating area in the kitchen. The eating area is large enough to have a sitting area which the Realtors called a hearth room. I have placed a rocking chair in the corner along with a lamp and table which I use to knit and watch T.V. in the mornings. I also often sit in that same chair to read. It would be a perfect place to rock a child if I still had any children who would let me rock them. I guess I will have to count of a couple of my friends who are having babies to allow me that little pleasure (hint, hint Suzi and Sarah).

I love the granite counter tops and the bar in the kitchen. I just need to find a couple of bar stools that I love. It is a smaller cooking area than we had but the storage is awesome because the cabinets are so tall and deep.

The whole kitchen is bright. I think that is one of the things I like most about this house. There are huge windows in every room which let the sunshine in. I love the large eat area. In this picture you can see two of the arched entries into the kitchen and eating area.

If anyone has suggestions on what to do with the T.V. space I would love the suggestions. It would probably look much better with a larger flat screen T.V. in that space. What do you think?

In this last picture you can see my cozy little sitting area. You can also see the door leading into the laundry room. And another bright window that faces the driveway.

This last picture shows what has become one of my favorite features of the house. Every room downstairs has speakers in the ceiling. I wasn't all that impressed with this feature, that was until we moved in and got it all hooked up. Now I have music all over the house whenever I want. There are even speakers in our room and the master bathroom. Each room has it's own volume control as well. I think it's pretty cool.
I hope you have enjoyed this quick glance into our kitchen and eating area.
