Sig Ep Summer Party 2010

This weekend proved to be a whole lot of fun for us adults. It also made us feel really, really old. We shared a babysitter with another couple with whom we were in college with and had a night out on the town. After leaving the kids in good hands we headed to one of the local haunts from our college days, Toots. We pretty much took over the restaurant taking up seven high tops. We also had several people standing or crowding around the tables to visit while eating and drinking.

It was fantastic getting together with so many of our old college friends and Matt's fraternity brothers. It was especially great to see those friends that we haven't seen in years or very rarely get the opportunity to visit with. Matt's fraternity brothers were some of the best guys I have ever known and still are a great group of guys to be around.

After dinner, we headed out to the fraternity house to reminisce about our own college days. It was interesting to see how much things change but also how much things stay the same. And while we enjoyed our memories of the good old days we also we also asked ourselves questions and each other so many questions. Did we dress as scantily as those girls, did we act as bad as them, drink as much, and so on and so forth. It was also fun seeing some of the biggest partiers get uncomfortable with various happenings. But while all of that was fun we also got glimpses into the possible futures of our own children. And for those of us with kids, girls especially, be scared to death of those glimpses. But all in all we had an awesome time and can't wait to see everyone who is able to make it at Homecoming in the Fall. Though we all had a great time we were all had moments in which we felt ancient. One such moment was when one girl said she was born in 1991. This happened to be the year I started high school and Matt's junior year. There were several more as well. Despite everything it was a great evening and we are so glad and thankful to be able to keep in touch with so many of our college friends.

I'll leave you with several pictures from our evening out with the Brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon.

The brothers do the Rally. It's not a true gathering of the brothers without one.

Behind Matt, Rob and Jace were two of my favorite brothers. I hadn't seen Jace in almost 13 years. It was great seeing him again. Rob and his wife are the couple we shared the babysitter with.
