Columbus Vacation

The kids and I were lucky enough to be able to take a trip to Columbus, Indiana with Matt this week. He had to go up on business so we decided to tag along to visit with all of our old friends. The kids and I got a vacation while Matt had to work, we are so lucky to have such an awesome father and husband that is willing to have us tag along while he has to work. Without all his hard work we wouldn't be able to do half the things we do. So thank you for such an awesome couple of days Matt!

I asked the kids what they wanted to do in Indiana. Besides seeing all their old friends they wanted to visit Freedom Field which was the playground behind their old school. It was a really hot day so we didn't stay too long but for the time we were there they had a blast.

Abby absolutely loves this spinning thing. She spent 20 minutes on it getting dizzy. This was one of the items on the playground that she remembered the most and looked for it immediately.
This really cool slide is really a bunch of rollers. You roll down them and the kids love them.
The climbing rock. And if you know us well you will know all about "the infamous climbing rock".

When we left Columbus Elizabeth was only two so she didn't remember the playground as well as the others. But just like the others she loved the playground and had so much fun climbing sliding and jumping on the play structures.
Tuesday we were so lucky to have our good friend Christine host a playdate for us, so that we could all get together to catch up with everyone. As soon as the kids got up they were wanting to know when we were going to get to see all their old friends. We had so much fun playing in the water slide that Aubrey brought for the kids to play in and stay cool while the adults visited. It was a great day.

Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, because the kids had so much fun, we went to the New Commons playground. What a wonderful playground it was too. I really missed this playground when they closed it for renovations but this is so cool now. And what a great addition to the city as well. If we were still living in Columbus I know we would be spending a lot of rainy, hot or cold days running around and getting rid of all the energy we seem to have. The kids spent so much time climbing and running around that they were falling asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow. Here are some of my favorite pictures...

After enjoying and working off some of our energy, mine was almost all gone, we headed to the kidsCommons Children's Museum for some more fun. The one thing the kids remembered the most was the giant toilet and they couldn't wait to play in it again. So that was the first thing they did.

And it was their favorite thing from the whole trip too! That is besides playing with all their friends. To them this was the best vacation E-V-E-R!!!
