Flat Stanley Came To Our House To Play

Our friend Emily from Indiana sent us Flat Stanley to visit with us for a couple of weeks. He arrived at our house right after Easter, so he missed our trip to Chattanooga but didn't miss out on all the fun. In the last couple of weeks we have had a lot. He helped Gabe and his class to make Paper Cranes for Japanese Relief, Osh Kosh was donating on item of clothing for every paper crane they received in their store by April 25th. Gabe and his class made 119 paper cranes. What a huge accomplishment for the class.

Here are Flat Stanley and Gabe with all the Paper Cranes that his class made.

The following day Abby took Flat Stanley to meet her 1st grade class. She said that he had a lot of fun with her.

Flat Stanley has also attended a lot of baseball practices and games while he has been here.

We also had a whole lot of excitement last week with some very severe storms. We were all woken up at 5:30 with a tornado near our house. And the storms continued all day long. We spent a lot of time in the closet with flashlights {we didn't have any electricity all day long} and a few board games to keep us entertained.

Because everyone knows Flat Stanley loves adventure he tried to talk us into taking a boat ride on all our flood water. {Well it was the kids really. They thought it would be fun to make boats and send them down the flood waters.} We convinced them that that was not such a great idea. The water was swift enough to sweep even the kids away. So we just remained enthralled with the amount of water surrounding our house from both the front and back. Hoping that we wouldn't have any trouble because of it.

We've had a lot of fun with Flat Stanley but it's time to return him to Emily and her class so that he can start his next adventure. Thank you so much for thinking to send him to us. We have had so much fun with him!! We miss you guys!
