Rain Picture Art - TTSS

Life In The Car Pool Lane
Tuesday's Tips for Summer Survival (TTSS) is a weekly carnival to help mamas survive the long summer days started by Carey over at Life in the Carpool Lane. The goal is to share kid-friendly tips so we can end up on the other side of this summer with what little sanity we had when we started. Be sure to head over and see everyone else's tips to survive the summer.

In trying to survive the summer I haven't been blogging as much. Last week every time we planned to do this...

it rained. And not just a nice rain you could send the kids out to play in either, it was a down pour with thunder and lightening. So I was forced to come up with something for the kids to do inside that would be fun and maintain their attention for longer than 5 minutes. I came up with drawing with markers. How is this going to keep their attention you ask? Well, after we drew our pictures we took them outside to see what would happen to them in the rain. We drew our pictures right before a new storm system hit so it was perfect for this project. Here are the pictures before and after. They had so much fun doing this, well that is after the initial shock of the markers ruining their pictures that they continued to make several more pictures. So I would have to say this was a huge success.
