No Sucking Finger Battle
We are still working on getting Gabriel to think about not sucking his fingers. The other day in the car I reminded him repeatedly not to and then watched him make a conscious effort not to. We have started giving him rewards when we "catch" him not sucking his fingers, especially times when he is watching TV, riding in the car or walking around. Those seem to be the times beside bedtime that he sucks his fingers the most. Currently, his reward is a Target gift card. We got several free ones when we bought cokes a couple of weeks ago. He has earned one and we are working on his getting a second. It soes seem to be working though we are no longer getting the response, "But I like sucking my fingers!" He is now taking his fingers out and saying, "Sorry." Which I keep trying to explain that it is for him we are doing this not for us.
