Kidscommons

We visited Kidscommons today which is a children's museum located on Washington Street in Columbus. The kids had a good time playing with all of their MOPS freinds who were able to come. I am disappointed in the cost of membership to Kidscommons they do not have a yearly membership just a monthly which is 50.00/month. This is very steep. Tickets cost 6.00 a person age 1-and up. Just to put it into perspective The Creative Discovery Museum in Chattanooga is 70.00 and year for a family membership and is 6.95 a ticket for kids 2-12, free for kids under 2 and 7.95 for adults. Which is more expensive for a one time visit but membership is much cheaper. One thing that is against Kidscommons is that Columbus, IN is not a huge tourist destination and Kidscommons will be relying on the community to pay for the new building and donations to keep the doors open. I would go much more often if only they would have a more reasonable membership fee. One thing I also noted and it was comfirmed by several other moms is that they have very little business on weekday mornings. Most of thier business is after school or on weekends. I think many other people find this to be a very expensive outing. I will return but it will have to be on rare occasions and be a treat for the kids to enjoy. Maybe next time we get some cousins up here we can go play together. I do think that the Creative Discovery Museum was worth the money as there was so much more to do.
