It's Been A While...
since I have blogged. It has been a busy couple of weeks with traveling, getting back into the swing of things and then having company. I have several stories to tell and will begin telling them throughout the week. The first one is the post before this one which I typed the day it happened and then didn't get around to posting. I will tell the rest of the stories later.

Call From the Past
The other day I received a phone call from our old pastor in Smyrna, Pastor Megan. I really enjoyed talking with her but realized during our conversation that I have become lax in find a home church once again. I am frustrated in not finding what I want and at some point need to come to terms with the fact that I will not find what we left behind.
During the school year I do have Bible study through my MOPS group and the kids have temple talk it just isn't the same as going to church every Sunday and becoming connected.
During our conversation I was able to express to Pastor Megan how much MOPS has meant to me. Upon moving to Columbus I didn't know anyone and needed a way to meet people, since it seemed everyone in our neighborhood was working. MOPS was the answer to my prayers and it has also become much more. I have grown in my faith and have developed friends that I'm not sure I would have otherwise. I will seek out new MOPS groups if we ever do leave Columbus, and hopefully it will be as enriching to me and my children as this program has been.

Matt's Fish Tale
During our vacation in Tennessee Matt went fishing with my dad, uncle, brother and brother-in-law. He caught more fish than everyone else for the first time. The night he caught the bass was a GREAT fishing night. Matt caught well over 20 fish that night and everyone else did almost as well. The night he caught the Drum fish wasn't as good of a night but he caught the most fish. Fishing was probably one of the highlights of our vacation.

Vacation Time In Tennessee
Over the 4th of July weekend we went to Tennessee for the week. Our first stop was my parent's house in Chattanooga. While there Matt went fishing, and caught some really big Bass, we went to see fireworks at a neighbors house, went tubing off the pantoon boat, played cards and rode horses. It was really a great visit.
Next on our trip to Tennessee we went to Knoxville. Matt's brother and his wife came down from Washington D.C. to visit. We went to Cades Cove, which is a favorite of Matt's mother's. The trip down there was a comedy of errors but it seemed most people had a pretty good time anyway. For the rest of our time there we had a relaxing rest of the weekend just visiting with our extended families.
Yesterday, we finally made it home about 3:30. We unloaded the car and then hopped into the pool. I think Matt had a pretty good vacation. Now it's back to the grind.
