Are We There Yet?
Instead of hearing this phrase over and over again during the past several weeks it has been, "When are we going to Nini/Mema's house?" They know we are going but the passage of time means so little to them. I am glad they look forward to visiting family, but answering the same question does get to be a little much. And even once we get on the road I will have to answer that other question or one much like it, "Are we in Kentucky yet?" or "Are we in Tennessee yet." Just three days now and then we will be gone.

Abby's Going Potty
In desperation to get Abby potty trained I started telling her 2 weeks before school let out that we would begin using the potty. Everyday I would tell her in 14days, you're going to start wearing panties. In 13 days you're going to start wearing panties, etc. Then on that Monday I took all the Pull ups and diapers out of her room and we began. Yesterday was the best day yet. There were no accidents except at bedtime when I put a pull up on her. This morning she woke up dry and went potty on her own. She has yet to have a BM on the potty but we are definately making progress. I am now gald that I did a little pushing.
Matt Needs a Vacation
Between work, school, household chores, and watching the kids when I have plans Matt has very little time to himself. He would love to play his game more often but he also wants to spend time with his family. He's having a very hard time with the stress of wanting to do everything but not having the time. He's has even debated quitting school. So anyway I told him to pick a place and a date in July and we would go on vacation. He would perfer not to spend an entire week away from home. If anyone has any suggestions where we could go within a decent days drive of here we would love to hear it. Our thought so far have been, Kings Island in Cinncinati, Ohio, Gatlinburg, TN, and St. Louis, Illinois. We also thought a visit with family would be good too since I am the one who usually takes the kids to visit and Matt doesn't get to as often. It would also be great if some of our family would come and visit. We wouldn't have to do anything more than enjoy to pool and maybe a park or two for a change of pace.

Am I Crazy???
I have just announced that Tuesdays at my house is swim day. There are several groups of moms and their respective kids that I have left the invitation open to come every Tuesday, eight of them to be exact. I look forward to those days because they are so much fun for the kids but at the same time it is pretty hectic. I guess time will tell if it is going to work out or not. My only rule is that you are responsible for your own kids. Though it seems we all help out each other, which I guess is what makes it work.
This past week I had to jump in after Gabriel fell in hitting his head and becoming disoriented. He probably would have been okay but I didn't really want to take any chances. And another mom had to fish her 3 year old out twice when she decided to jump in without her swimmies, arm floats, she sank to the bottom.
I guess we will see how many times over the summer we drag people out of the water.

Happy Birthday, Gabriel!!
LAst night after putting the kids to bed Matt and I decorated the kitchen with streamers and balloons for Gabriel's birthay. As we were decorating I had a thought that Gabriel would have no clue on waking that it was his birthday. So this morning I tested that theory when he and Abby came to visit us.
Me: Good morning to my 5 year old and three year old.
Abby: Good morning. (big smile)
Gabriel: Mommm, you mean 4, it wasn't the 15th at my Chuck E. Cheese birthday.
Me: I know but today is te 15th.
Gabriel: (slaps head and prat falls to the ground) Oh!!

Happy Birthday, Cathy!!!
I know you're not awake yet, but Happy 50th Birthday!! - Matt
Seriously, we both wish you a very happy 33rd birthday and hope you enjoyed your evening without the kids last night. Mom and Dad have secured special places in heaven for taking over the chaos for even that short duration. I called and spoke with them last night and again today, and their house was louder and more active than any time except Christmas... and they were loving it!!
Love ya, sis!

Matt and School
Matt finally got his grades yesterday. He has a 4.0 GPA for both last semester and this semester. What was annoying was the fact that his professor didn't post grades until yesterday. He posted the mid-term project grades the same day as the final exam grades were posted. So for most of the semester Matt had no way of knowing how he was fairing in that class. Unfortunately, Matt will have that same professor again.
Tomorrow, Matt begins his summer school courses.

This Week
This is the last week os school so everything is happening now.
Mother's Day Celebration - Monday morning in Gabe's class
Teddy Bear Picnic -Tuesday
MOPS end of year brunch and take cupcakes to Gabe's class- Wednesday
End of year Celebration- Thursday
Gabriel's Birthday Party at Chuck E. Cheese -Firday
It seems that Abby's class just isn't doing all the fun stuff like Gabriel's class. But she also doesn't seem to miss it either.
I think I will be ready for the weekend when the week is over. And then I won't have any breaks unless I make them for the rest of the summer. Oh, well it could be worse.
